In Abu Dhabi in 2001, I found the “Moon Gallery” where I held my first show of my “ Moon and Water” series. Among the Japanese (not only there of course, but in many other societies as well) the Moon is one of the favourite objects in literature and other forms of artistic work. It plays a major role in our mythological lore. My moon is a kind of reflection of my life. At night when I go to sleep, I feel just starting a new day. Then in the morning I feel the need to see the moon, already blurred with mist, just to make sure that I am still alive.

For me it has become a challenge to portray these 2 huge and incomprehensible subjects through my own interpretation. Canvas, rice paper and silk as a foundation to work on, using mixed media techniques developed on my own, I encounter a kind of chemistry in which I am very much at home. This together with my Japanese heritage of long experience of Traditional Japanese Ink Painting has helped me to realize my concept on tableau.
